Forty-six years ago this week, Burt Munro rode his 1920 Indian Scout to an official 183.586 mph. The speed's so staggering, no one has managed to surpass his title in the under 1,000 cc class since.

Indian commissioned builder Jeb Scolman to hand-craft a tribute to Munro's efforts using the company's new Thunderstroke 111 V-twin. They gave him just 90 days to do it. This is the result. Read it at Road & Track.
