Mr. Regular recently went on a little West Coast road trip, eloquently called the “Pacific Fister,” to drive some cars and learn about car culture on the West Coast. He kept a diary while on the road. This is that diary.

For those unfamiliar, the trip went from Los Angeles to Portland in a rental Toyota Corolla, and then back to Los Angeles in a rented seat on a Boeing 737. It’s a long journey that leaves you alone with your thoughts. And those thoughts lead Mr. Regular to possibly determine why people strive to live in Malibu, but he had to leave and come back to discover it.
