Earlier this week, our own Mr. Regular told you about why many in a certain generation despise V8 power. That didn’t sit all that well with Jack Baruth, who is of that generation and enjoys horsepower very much. He says that even in the malaise era, the V8 was still great.

Baruth argues that the V8, even when restricted, was still more than a match for anything but the fastest of import cars. It also didn’t take too long for it to get some mojo back. It might niot have been the economical choice, but it still had a place.
