There’s a lot of praise these days for cars that come with solely a manual transmission. Likewise, there’s a lot of derision for cars that used to be manual only, but now offer an automatic. But perhaps these cars shouldn’t be shunned. Perhaps being manual only is more a curse than a blessing.
There are very few manual-only cars for sale in the USA right now. And some that were previously manual only are now offering an automatic option to cater to more buyers. Some see that as a negative. But if it helps keep the manual models going and expands the reach of the performance envelope, what’s the issue?
